Washington March 18 President Wilson was pressed by a committee of national leaders to back a constitutional amendment granting suffrage to women. He said he had not decided and did not want actions to be seen as a sign of his position. Other members viewed suffrage as a matter of practical importance with strong political implications.
A vintage remedy promotes mixing granulated sugar with warm water and adding Pinex to a pint bottle to create a cough syrup. A spoonful every two to three hours is claimed to ease coughing within a day for various throat ailments.
