UNC Students Released After Manslaughter Conviction

University of North Carolina students William L. Oldham Merriam Aubrey C. Hartch were convicted Saturday for manslaughter in a hazing death and sentenced to four months in jail. Orange County commissioners released them under a plan allowing their fathers to pay 175 dollars each to hire them out within the state, leaving the students without citizenship. Boy imitates death by own action in Lancaster tragedy

Lancaster on March 17 reports John Walton aged fourteen playing with companions took a revolver supposedly unloaded to his temple and exclaimed This is how Brobst shot himself before pulling the trigger. The bullet struck his brain and he died soon after at General Hospital.
