Communications Lab Conference In Frederick County
A two day conference on Communications Laboratories in the Schools promotes individualized student work in reading writing listening and speaking. About 50 participants from Maryland District of Columbia West Virginia and Pennsylvania attend with a $50 fee. Events include seminars at Frederick High School West Frederick area and lab demonstrations at Frederick High and West Frederick Junior High with speakers from Hood College University of Maryland and Frederick Community College.

Mrs. Barbara J. Pecola of Silver Spring will receive 9000 dollars after a Maryland Court of Appeals ruling upheld a county grand jury award. She testified she received over 200 threatening calls regarding a 375 dollar promissory note her husband gave Summit Loans Inc. for his father’s funeral expenses.

Damascus residents urged to join a 1 PM cleanup next Sunday led by the Damascus beautification committee. $125 000 Suit Filed In Wreck
A $125 000 civil suit was filed in Frederick County Circuit Court over a two car collision on U S 40A near Hollow Road. Plaintiff Mildred Viola Grimes of Alexandria Va alleges she was a passenger when Louise Leatherman of Middletown left to enter a service station causing the wreck. A jury trial was requested.

State Council Of VFW Plans Sunday Meeting
The Maryland State VFW administration will hold a regular administrative council meeting Sunday March 19 at 1 p.m. at Yingling-Ridgely Post 7472 in Ellicott City.
