Family films comeback talk and a critic's odd pick
A New York based AP piece recalls a film critic praising a supposed family film about a Los Angeles boy turned to drugs while parents debate messages in modern cinema. The column contrasts old time family favorites like Gunga Din and Shane with contemporary attempts, noting scenes and dialogue vary in acceptability for kids. It weighs parental judgment against critics, recalling classic films and memory of shared family viewing.
