Gaithersburg man gets 30 years for sex abuse
A 46-year-old Gaithersburg resident was sentenced to 30 years in prison after a Montgomery County jury convicted Bernard Winkleman of third degree sex offenses involving a year-old boy and his eight-year-old sister. The judge also imposed a 60-year term with 30 years to be served. Winkleman lived with the children and their mother as a caregiver. authorities said he threatened to keep the abuse secret until detection by the children's grandfather and hospital exam confirmed the charges.
