Frederick groups push new youth center and shared nonprofit building
Frederick officials discuss a $740,000 pair of projects to add an after school youth center near five schools and expand the Y’s child care for 78 more families. They seek a $950,000 grant to acquire a 26,000 square foot downtown building for nine nonprofit agencies. The plan aims to cut costs and provide a one stop site for services, with renovations on a $2 million budget target. A separate request seeks $100,000 to purchase and renovate the Lamar Sanitarium house in Middletown for the Central Maryland Heritage League as a historic medical exhibit and offices.

Stovall Found Dead After Kilgore Road Search
Mount Zion area search for Mr. Stovall ends with recovery of his body near a Kilgore Road cabin by the Potomac River. Trooper Kief said initial reports tied his abandoned 1992 Corsica on Kilgore Road to the case as a large cooperative effort with West Virginia and Maryland police, firefighters, rescues, and a K-9 unit. Justine Beachley, Stovall’s daughter-in-law, said the family was alerted Sunday morning and noted his habit of taking drives to flea markets providing some closure.
