Tax cut spurned in House action on income tax relief
Washington March 11 The drive for immediate 25 percent income tax reductions failed in the House after Republican cadets concluded no action could be taken before March 15. Leaders planned a separate resolution to push the cut if the revenue bill stalls, transferring the issue to the Senate Finance Committee which opened debate on the bill. Two women burned in Hazleton Pa as a blaze at a mining village home left Mrs Meadow and Mrs Shershan with severe injuries from an explosion while others fought the fire.
