High schoolers aid Bay restoration program in Maryland
About 150 Watkins Mill High School students in Gaithersburg will grow wild celery and monitor growth to assist Chesapeake Bay habitat restoration. Under teacher Dale Johnson, they will plant a portion of the seedlings later and report data to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as part of the statewide Bay Grasses in Classes effort impacting wetlands and water clarity.
