Brunswick mayor backs Weldon in county commission bid
Brunswick City Administrator Richard Weldon filed to run for Frederick County Board of County Commissioners and pledged to make the $30,000-a-year post full time. Mayor Thomas Smith backed him as Incumbent David Gray seeks re election. Weldon outlined smart growth, a state county relationship plan, and a need for consensus. He noted a pay cut from his current $46,400 salary and said his wife Amy runs a successful small business. He has lived in Frederick County 14 years.
