WSSC to back-bill hundreds of customers for old sewer charges
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission will bill 800 to 1200 customers for prior sewer charges not included on bills for up to four years. Spokeswoman Pearl Laufer said back-billing covers one year due to the agency error, traced to a bookkeeping glitch that omitted sewer fees from water-only bills. A June computer check identified the issue.
