Historic Loy's Station bridge destroyed by fire
The Loy's Station covered bridge in Rocky Ridge Frederick County was burned in a 1 30 a m fire described as suspicious. Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Bob Thomas said the roof walls and deck were burned leaving the 90 foot structure a ruin built about 1850 over Owens Creek on Old Frederick Road south of Md 77 local observers gathered at dawn to view the charred remains.
