Frederick County teams clash in Blue Ridge League action
In the Blue Ridge League two Frederick County amateur clubs, the Brunswick Orioles and Middletown Ravens, field contrasting rosters. The Orioles mix college players and former pros led by player-manager Roger Dawson, while the Ravens rely on late teens to early 20s playing for love of the game as they rebuild. Bruns wick has a 10-7 start and top hitters like Doug Stottlemeyer, Kurt Cunningham, and Ron Shankle, with Shankle aiming to return to an organization. The Ravens, 3-15 in division, struggle with pitching but count on Gil Ohler and Art Mowbray to spark improvement.
