Auto fire engine repaired after Zentz mill blaze
A mechanic from American LaFrance in Philadelphia arrived Friday to install new parts on the Independent Hose Company's fire engine damaged when a belt failed at the Zentz mill fire. The engine suffered a crushed crank case, damaged piston, and likely a new shaft. Repairs, including a connecting rod, bearings, blocks, and crank case, are underway at the engine house, with service expected by mid to late next week.
