William Cromwell reports a child darted into the street and was hit by an automobile. The injuries are described as likely serious.
The city began clearing the Bantz property on West Patrick Street at its improvement program site bought for 30000 dollars. Workers remove overgrown trees and shrubs, using bricks from old walls to fill old tanning vats, with plan to widen Brewer's Alley and create parking to ease downtown congestion. A seven year old girl, Margaret Anders, was seriously injured by a passing car on West South Street near her home, driven by William Cromwell, and taken to Frederick City Hospital in unknown condition.
Kingston June 26 AP Three railroad employees died when a freight locomotive hauling 60 cars exploded over marsh land near Kingston. The wreckage fouled passenger tracks and the Cape Codder from New York crashed into it. Two crewmembers on the freight were killed and the express train engineer was injured. Several passengers suffered minor injuries. The boiler was hurled into the swamp and fuel oil spread along the track. Cause of the blast is under investigation.

A Los Angeles evangelist Amy Semple McPherson, traveling by train near Tucson, Arizona, briefly met a man who said she resembled a woman he once picked up. The man, Greenly building inspector, said he could not identify her as the same person. McPherson spoke to onlookers about following leads to the desert country where she says she escaped kidnappers, and thanked God for deliverance.

The Frederick Lodge of Perfection 7th annual outing was held at Hotel Brad dock Friday night with William Booth Brice as guest of honor. After a dinner, addresses were delivered, a drawing contest won by Frank Miller, dancing to Hagan’s orchestra, and a large attendance from Baltimore and Point of Rocks with many members and guests listed.
