Tragedy at North Anson as horse, man, woman die in electrocution
A horse struck a crossed wire in a pooled rainwater near North Anson Manufacturing Company. Ora Pullen died rescuing the horse. Mrs Moran and Warren Natting perished aiding them. Negro charged with rape held for grand jury
Neal Hall colored of Greenfield was arrested and jailed for a September grand jury on an alleged rape of his 11 year old stepdaughter Dorothy Hall. He was picked up about 3 am Sunday by Sheriff James A. Jones and Deputy Sheriff Charles W. Smith at his home and brought to the city. He is said to have confessed. The crime is alleged to have occurred Saturday night when the girl and Hall were alone as dancers returned home. The sheriff's office was notified and officers located Hall at his Greenfield residence and arrested him.
