Relay board chairman resigns amid hearing impaired tech push
Dr. Michael Moore resigned as chair of Maryland Governor's Advisory Board for Telecommunications Relay at a Maryland School for the Deaf meeting. He cited rising personal and professional obligations. Moore, a chemistry professor at Gallaudet University, chaired since 1989 and will serve until Gov. Schaefer appoints a successor. The board plans a wish list to the Department of General Services to push funding and a loop system for hearing rooms, plus specialized devices like volume control phones. The current telephone surcharge funding the system ends June 30, 1993.
