Arraignments On 14 Indictments Begin In Frederick
Frederick County Circuit Court concluded arraignments for 14 of 17 indicted by the June 11 grand jury session. Judge Samuel W Barrick presided as trials were scheduled through July for those arraigned. No guilty pleas were offered and five jury trials are set. The grand jury returned 16 indictments last Friday including one murder, three assault with intent to murder, nine theft, two forgery, one escape and one robbery and assault. Names include Richard Eugene Lewis and others from Maryland and Georgia with multiple charges and scheduled trials in July.

Allen G. Quynn 77 husband of Rachel Motter Quynn of 204 Rockwell Terrace died early this morning at Frederick Memorial Hospital. A retired Rear Admiral of the US Navy, he will be laid to rest with arrangements announced by M R Etchison and Son Funeral Home.

Counterfeit Twenty Dollar Bills Found in Frederick
City detectives report two counterfeit twenty dollar bills circulating in the Frederick area. The U S Secret Service confirmed the bills as fake on Thursday. Merchants were urged to examine twenty dollar notes closely before accepting them. The forgeries show poor paper quality and blurred images of the White House seals and Jefferson. Both notes bore serial number D-65539075C.

County Employes Get 8 Per Cent Pay Hike
Frederick County workers will receive an eight percent raise starting July 1 as part of the final 1972 budget. The package includes a 3 percent across the board increase raising base pay to 4290, plus a 5 percent step raise for all on July 1.
