Local Firm Gets Low Bid for High School Addition
Frederick Construction Company on Tuesday submitted the lowest bid for two one story additions at the high school to add locker space and education offices. The local firm bid 46 564, with Ni man Barly and Son of Hagerstown at 49 382 and Thermont Construction at 54 600. Officials said bids were mailed to board members for action before the next meeting. John B. Funk, new chair of the State Roads Commission, outlined major projects for U S 340 from Holter Road to Knoxville with resurfacing and a future dual highway. He cited a $295,000 bid in July for eight miles and a 1.639 mile relocation for Catoctin Creek area with a new bridge, planned for spring 1960, plus study of Route 464 from Brunswick to Knoxville.
