Medical technology chapter sets meet in Frederick
The Frederick County Society for the Advancement of Medical Technology formed by 35 local technicians will meet June 16 at 7 30 pm in Conference Room 126 at the Frederick Cancer Research Center. Joseph B O Connell will speak on general pathology about Basic Medical Cytogenetics.

Maryland and Frederick County Jobless Rates in April
Maryland unemployment declined to 6.0 percent in April from 7.1 in March, with total statewide employment up and labor force rising slightly. Frederick County posted 4.8 percent unemployment with 1,845 people jobless in April, amid varied county rates from 3.7 percent in Talbot to 24.4 percent in Somerset. The Baltimore metropolitan area saw a 7.1 percent jobless rate as its total unemployment fell to 65,700, while statewide weekly initial claims averaged 4,599 with 40,767 continued claims.
