Pet Show Highlights Frederick County Fun Winners
The 1959 Frederick County Humane Society pet show at Baker Park drew 169Entries with dogs cats and birds competing for top prizes. Highlights include James High’s Irish setter winning best all around male dog and John Holly’s miniature Schnauzer best all around female dog. A duck incident and a missing Persian white cat added liveliness to the event sponsored to raise funds for the Animal Shelter on Gas House Pike and featured a popular goat bite anecdote involving Doug Reid's duck.
