Civitan installs officers and honors Outstanding American students
The Frederick Civitan Club installed new officers at a June meeting in Key Hall with Governor William E. Lee assisting. Principal George M. Seaton announced Frederick High School students named to the Society of Outstanding American High School Students, including Deborah Singleton Zeiler and James Lyle Droneburg among others. The event featured greetings from Civitan International and attendees from the Chesapeake District. Separately, Army engineers at Ft Belvoir use the black widow spider’s web to craft optical instrument cross hairs, noting the spider’s web properties are better suited than sewing thread.
