Hood College may revive name for prep schools
The Frederick Female Seminary name is under revival consideration by Dr J H Apple president of Hood College. He hopes to use Hood College buildings for the prep schools when the college moves to its new quarters on the College Farm. A general registration of voters plan is proposed with sittings in larger towns and villages to cover election districts, as Election Supervisor Joseph F Eisenhauer urges changes after 12 years service. A Navy cruise departure is noted with Midshipman Allen G Quynn of Frederick among first classmen leaving Annapolis. Police are on the lookout for two autos that cut the corner at the Square yesterday and several local residents enjoyed a Potomac outing at Weverton.

Miller says Scranton would run if drafted. Scranton says he won’t join a draft unless it is truly grassroots. Nixon defers to Rockefeller while Lodge stays silent in Saigon as governors meet in Cleveland. Eisenhower may address the group but backs no coup to stop Goldwater, leaving a unified anti Goldwater bloc uncertain.
