Walkersville Faces Eight Hour Water Pump Outage
Walkersville plans an eight hour pumpless period next Wednesday with extremely low pressure as the Glade Valley Milling Company pump undergoes removal for repairs. Town officials urge residents to curb nonessential uses including lawn sprinkling car washing and appliance use during the outage. A temporary replacement pump will be provided by the Cook Company of Philadelphia and a second scheduled pumpless day awaits repairs completion.

Zoning Appeals Board to Hear Three Cases in Frederick
The Frederick County Board of Appeals will meet Tuesday at 7 30 p m in the Grand Jury Room of the Frederick Courthouse to hear three zoning appeal applications. George E Miller seeks a variance to side yard rules to build a carport on Blue Mountain Road. Elmer Band Alice V Ardeeser requests permission to place a trailer as permanent residence near Kemptown Bartholows Road close to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Viaduct. Oscar D Ledford and agent Charles R Ledford seek four subdivision lots with three mobile homes in a rural area along a 350 foot right of way off Black ankle Road east of Fritztown Road. This marks one of the first subdivision decisions by the board under not yet adopted county regulations.
