Brunswick girl Mary Lenore Kaetzel received the Alumnae Gold Medal and a Georgetown scholarship among numerous English and commercial course awards. Diplomas from the Catholic University of America were awarded to many seniors along with stenography and typewriting certificates.

Five Perish In Drownings At Maryland Beaches
Marylanders fled the 87 degree heat as boating and swimming accidents claimed five lives. Baltimore police later recovered the body of eight-year-old Howard Markey missing since May 31. A yacht club regatta collision at Fairview on Rock Creek killed Louis Watson, 19, Crisfield, with Harry Bowen, 22, Baltimore, injured. Keane of Washington, D. Man Rescued After 80 Foot Fall From Bridge Into Potomac
In Washington a 79 year old man, Frank Watkins, is in critical condition at Gallinger Hospital after leaping 80 feet from Key Bridge into the Potomac River. Three fishermen rescued him after he left behind his coat, hat and glasses on the bridge. In New York Ronald W. Night parachute jump graces Frederick air show
