Carijama festival brings taste of Jamaica to city
Sixteen year old Audrey Carpenter and John Montgomery attended the Carijama festival in Baker Park. Carpenter wore angel wings and Montgomery wore an Aztec style gold cloak with a tall red feather headdress. Attendance was about 300 as the event featured a fashion review, Caribbean foods, singing, and dancing led by organizer Leonnie Nelson who aims to grow the festival annually through All One Under the Sun to aid Frederick's poor.
