Local Boy Killed In Wreck
A 16 year old Edgewood resident died when his 1968 four door sedan ran off Kemp Lane near Frederick City. Paul Isaac Eyler of RFD 8 8 Box 371 Frederick was northbound and failed to negotiate a slight curve striking a fence. Eyler died from two fence pipes. the car traveled 112 feet beyond the fence before stopping. Speed and driver error were listed as factors. Eyler, born June 12 1955 in Frederick County, was the son of Albert L Eyler Jr and Louella Greene Eyler of Edgewood.

Partly cloudy conditions followed a strong storm that soaked the area with 1.19 inches of rain in a 40 minute span. A minor house fire in Mt. Pleasant sparked by lightning marked the worst damage. Downed tree limbs and power outages affected several communities while May totals reached 5.44 inches. Temperatures will dip to the upper 30s tonight and high 60s to low 70s tomorrow with clearing skies and diminishing winds. Rivers remained muddy, affecting fishing prospects for the first weekend in June.
