The actress Miss Mary Mannering and her husband James K Hackett were arrested in Delaware while hunting reed birds with a single license. They faced a $58 fine for shooting two birds at a cost of $28 and related penalties.
Two Black men confessed to killing Ed Granger a white turpentine operator and were captured by Sheriff Wiggink near Peace River. A mob of about 200 halted the sheriff, hanged the pair to a nearby tree and then fired at them, dispersing after the executions.
New York July 28 Russell Sage will leaves his entire estate to widow Margaret Olivia Sage after $25,000 to each nephew and niece and $10,000 to his sister Mrs Fanny Chapin of Oneida. Washington July 28 Secretary Wilson announced regulations under the new law for interstate and foreign meat product inspection. Svodba and Wallace traveled with the loot across the country during the pursuit by police. The case unfolded after Svodba vanished with the jewelry from Mrs Walsh’s room.
