Lightning destroys two-story store in Kemptown
A two story frame store at Kemptown owned by Reverdy Purdum and used by Claf Secn B Davis was struck by lightning yesterday around 5 pm and burned with all contents lost. The building valued at about 800 dollars was insured, while Davis’s stock of goods worth 1500 to 1700 dollars was insured for 1000 dollars. No one was present during the blaze and an earlier Baltimore report of a dwelling destruction was an error due to ownership history.
