U S geography literacy ranks near bottom in global test
The Gallup international survey shows Americans score low on locating countries and oceans with 75 percent placing the Persian Gulf in other seas and 57 percent not knowing current U S population. Young Americans fare worst, with national pride in environmental awareness higher.
