METRC Jamboree Promises Family Fun and Prizes
The Maryland Emergency Travelers Radio Club METRC of Jefferson will stage its first jamboree at Petersville Picnic Woods on Sunday July 30 from noon to 7 pm. Open to all, with hourly door prizes games food and a grand prize. Trophies for clubs and members, plus junior club awards, with a $1 adult and 34 cent child donation and free entry for under 13.

Camp Greentop Open House Set
The League for the Handicapped invites the public to an open house at Camp Greentop in Catoctin Mountain Park on Sunday August 6 from 3 to 5 PM. The summer facility houses about 100 disabled children ages seven to 17 for one or two week sessions. Located in Maryland, the camp serves children with deafness cerebral palsy spina bifida and other neurological disabilities. For information call (301) 523-0500.

Columbian Resident Named to HCC Post
Viedimi G Mannich will serve as director of continuing education at Howard Community College starting July 1. He will oversee evening and Saturday classes, coordinate part time faculty, and remain chairman of the business division. Mannich, active in community affairs, has past president duties with Harper's Glen Townhouse Association and coaches soccer in Columbia. He holds degrees from City College of New York and New York University, plus Johns Hopkins certification. The family resides in Swansfield with wife Virginia and three children.
