Dollar sinks to new low against the yen in Tokyo trade
In hectic Tokyo trading the dollar fell to 182.10 yen and closed at 183.475 as Bank of Japan bought heavily. The drop reduces American purchasing power in Japan with the currency shedding about 4 percent since Friday and nearly half since August 1971.
