Towson College President Defends State Colleges
Towson State College President Dr. James L. Fisher urged Congress on July 16 not to penalize all colleges for a few mistakes. Speaking to a House subcommittee, he argued that shifting support from four year institutions to community colleges is shortsighted and notes Towson kept operations smooth during unrest. Representative Albert Quie countered, saying four-year schools may be shirking duties by relying on graduate assistants.
