Hospital expansion plan advances with Baker and Shank wings
A special meeting of the Frederick ite Rospice Board of Zaety Managers at the Nursing Home heard the committee report backing a major expansion of the hospital funded by gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Joseph D. Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Shank. The Baker wing would extend west from the north end, the Shank wing from the center, requiring a new heating plant and updated operating rooms and kitchen facilities. The plan aims to add 125 beds and modernize the facility outside Baltimore. The proposal will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval before fundraising begins.
