The State Game Department warns that pot fish devices in Frederick county waters are illegal after June 1 1924 as Chapter 340 1924 supersedes 373 1922. A sidewheel steamer bucket burst spraying water onto the top deck causing panic among 500 passengers. One girl Ruby Oker, 18, is believed drowned while several were injured and others jumped overboard. The captain and crew lowered a lifeboat to rescue those in the water.

Marines Pass Through Frederick En Route to Antietam Maneuvers
