Mayor and Board of Aldermen decide to keep the fountain at North Market, install a new waste water pipe, and add a one foot concrete wall around the base. The move aims to improve appearance while aiding street repaving and contractor work. An annual inspection trip is planned for Thursday.
A mob of about 300 men gathered in Pulaski county and in Mounds Missouri after two African American men were accused of murdering Daisy Wilson, 18. The suspects were in custody of the sheriff and guards formed at the jail. Seymour Welch, a neighbor, died from excitement during the unrest.
William M. Butler, chairman of the Republican national committee, said the party is prepared for a campaign based on either candidate personality or party pledges and record. He noted branch offices may open in the West to supplement national offices in Chicago New York and Washington.

Five negro laborers were seriously injured today in a series of explosions outside the Pig Point ordnance depot near Norfolk. One worker is missing. The injured were rushed to Portsmouth hospitals. three sustained loss of limbs and prospects for recovery are grim. The County Commissioners awarded three miles of state highway on the Woodsboro-Ladiesburg road to Thomas Bennett Hunter of Westminster for 40 330 70. Willard Krueger, 21, confessed to killing his father in Hudson Wisconsin claiming the man swore around the house. He struck him with an iron bar and buried the body in an abandoned hog pen, authorities reported.
