Former teacher charged after shooting at wife in Maryland

Antonio Pruitt, 39, a former Frederick elementary teacher for 16 years, is charged with assault with intent to murder and related counts after allegedly firing eight rounds at his wife during a domestic dispute. He was released on 100000 dollar unsecured bond. He allegedly fired two shots from 36 feet and six more with a 9 mm Beretta, missing his wife. City man arrested on drug charges

Frederick City Police found three men in the area on South Bentz Street after a 12 05 a.m. call about drug sales. One man held 25 racks of crack cocaine and gave a false name. FBI fingerprints linked Sterling Dale Haywood 20 of Carver Apartments Frederick to New York drug charges. He faces possession and distribution counts and a false statement charge, held in $75 000 bail.

Second teen charged in fatal rock throwing case

Anne Arundel County prosecutors charged 18 year old William Matthew Donley with second degree murder after a rock throwing spree that killed a 38 year old father of three. Donley surrendered after indictment and reportedly cooperated, seeking to testify against 16 year old Jason Wyvill who faces second degree murder and 10 counts of assault and up to 118 years. Donley held on one million dollar bail and faces up to 30 years if convicted.

In Howard County a temporary USPS carrier, 33, on her first day delivering a route, left more than 500 pieces of mail dumped in the woods as temperatures hit 102. USPS officials said carriers cannot discard mail and that she was fired after the incident.

Traffic stop ends in drug charges in Maryland

A Virginia man, Joseph Dean Ashley of Fairfax, was charged after a traffic stop on I 270 near the Monocacy River. Maryland State Police Trooper James Denter said a cracked windshield and swerving prompted the stop. a search found two bags of marijuana, a pipe, and rolling papers. Ashley faces possession and paraphernalia charges and is held on $3,000 bail at Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
