A Baltimore-based ring allegedly ships phony Medicaid prescriptions into nearby states, using forged signatures and accurate DEA numbers to fool pharmacists. The unit, led by Sgt. F Theodore Bryan, works with doctors and 100 area pharmacies to detect red flags, inspect logs, and verify patient records, aiming to curb street sale of pills.
