Frederick City Receives Bond Cash for Public Works
Frederick City has received cash proceeds from the current 2,000,000 bond issue. Mayor Jacob R. Ramsburg told the Board of Aldermen to reinvest funds needed for final phases of the public improvement program. The city sold the bond to Halsey, Sart and Co. Plans were issued for a sewer project, and a water tank project earlier won an award. The meeting covered traffic light installation, zoning changes, fire company parades, engine transports for out of town trips, and a water use resolution for Fort Detrick during an emergency. Regular bills were approved.

Man Being Held Says He Has Six Wives
CLINTON Tenn AP A Cartersville Georgia truck driver told police he had six wives and was arrested Thursday on a forgery charge. Anderson County Sheriff Glad Woodward said Verta Green 42 admitted running up more than 4000 dollars in charges on an Oak Ridge man's service station credit card during a three month honeymoon with his sixth wife Anna Grace Green of Herriman Tennessee. Green said his first wife Wylvie Bennett Green of Cartersville knew of his other wives and added she loves him so much she does not care. He claimed Anna Grace was the first wife he truly loves and said he married the others while he was drinking. Woodward said Green used the Oak Ridge credit card in 18 states and 3 Mexico while traveling with Anna Grace Green but could not recall the names of his other four wives. He said courts should decide what to do about them and that there was no point worrying. He is held without bond at the county jail.
