Monocacy reenactment hit by technical delays and a fuel scare
On Elmer Derr Road Hugh Warner organized a weekend Battle of Monocacy reenactment for about 900 participants. A generator gas line break disrupted sound and a red truck parked by spectators required redirection. A backup generator from Carroll Manor Fire Co. ensured the show could proceed.

Mountain trail ride ends in tragedy
A mare slipped on a rocky trail near Mountaindale as a woman rider jumped clear. Firefighters veterinarians and volunteers fought for seven hours to hoist the horse with helicopters and resources from White House Pentagon and Maryland National Guard. after repeated delays the decision was made to euthanize the animal. The incident drew frustration from those involved over the rescue efforts and communication failures.

Frederick Man Struck and Killed on Md 194
Frederick man Fred Franklin Main was struck and killed on Md 194 while walking along the southbound shoulder south of Nicodemus Road. The southbound truck, driven by Richard K. Clements, 33, of Frederick, pulled onto the shoulder to weld near an responding trooper. Main died at Frederick Memorial Hospital after the 11:68 p.m. crash.
