Frederick Chamber of Commerce directors held a Monday night meeting at the Peter Pan Inn to adopt resolutions condemning any lowering of milk importation standards for the District of Columbia. A telegram with the resolution text was wired to District Commissioners for action. Local milk shippers from Frederick, Carroll and Montgomery counties voiced objections led by Merril H. Ramsburg. The Maryland Virginia Milk Producers Association opposed lowering DC standards, warning of adverse effects on the Washington market. In other business, the board commended Camp Detrick for a one fund campaign, approved R. L. Polk as sponsor for the 1950 city directory, and elected new members J. R. Yingling and Son, Charles R. Yingling, Western Auto Associates, J. A. Brown, and E. Austin James. Mayor Munshower missed the session due to illness.
