Montgomery County Council Approves Pay Increase in 1966
Montgomery County Council on Tuesday approved a $10,000 raise for member salaries starting in 1966, subject to voter approval in November. The measure also realigns council districts by population and creates a bipartisan personnel board. Current pay is $30 per meeting with an average annual income around $5,000. County Manager Mason A. Butcher will draft a redistricting plan within three weeks.
