Bentley Promotes Frederick Airport Hub For Growth
Republican candidate Helen Delich Bentley urged making Frederick Municipal Airport a growth hub during a campaign stop. She argued regional airports must relieve congestion near Baltimore and Washington and stressed transportation infrastructure for economic development. Bentley toured the facility with Frederick Mayor Jum Grimes and discussed tourism as a statewide economic driver while calling for no new programs to curb rising state costs. David Blackledge II, son of Frederick residents, graduated from the U S Merchant Marine Academy Kings Point and earned a Deck Officer 3rd Mates license after nomination by Rep Beverly Byron.
