Heat Relief Follows Thunderstorms Across Area
Thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon brought temporary heat relief to most communities while causing major power and telecom outages. PECO crews repaired high tension lines in Middletown Myersville and LeGore and lightning cut telephone service between Middletown and Myersville. A tree fell on wires at Brunswick and disruptions affected Monument and other exchanges. Temperatures neared 97 in the area with Baltimore hitting 100 as heat lingers despite brief storms.
