Radio interference traced to transformer on East Patrick street
City reception improved after engineers pinpointed a 2 300 volt feed wire against a transformer hanger caused by winds. The live wire caused constant sparks and radio noise until circuits were shut or the pole was repaired. Potomac Edison and city forces collaborated to locate and fix the fault. The line ran normally after tests. A later note reports the first Pennsylvania Railroad triple train between Philadelphia and Washington set a new speed record of 3 hours 50 minutes, replacing the prior best of 3 hours 51 minutes.
