Frederick County Honors Nurses on National School Nurse Day
Frederick County marked National School Nurse Day with a ceremony at the health department recognizing more than 200 000 visits by students to 10 school nurses and about 20 health technicians across 24 schools The event highlighted calls to expand the nurse program and noted that only half the schools are currently covered with medically trained staff including 11 nurses serving 27 schools The speakers praised the nurses leadership and dedication naming the honored staff members Maxine Collett Jalene Kolb Kathy Koops Madelyn Linton Donna Martin Jo McGovern Renee Nutter Ruthie Painter Gail Rolls Cathy Shaffer Wenner and Sara Shankle
