Mary Freeze of Cozy Restaurant Dies at 80 in Thurmont
Mary Freeze owner of the Cozy Restaurant and Inn at Thurmont died Thursday at Frederick Memorial Hospital at age 80. She was married to Wilbur Freeze and helped grow the Cozy from a 12 seat lunch counter to a nationally known dining spot. Surviving are son Gerald, a brother Joe Gehr, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services set for Jan 28-29 at Stauffer Funeral Home with interment Blue Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may go to Apples United Church of Christ.
