Local Road Crashes Claim Three Lives
Three people died in local crashes since Saturday. Nancy Lee Markoe of East Fourth Street died at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a five car pileup on U S Route 1705. A Pennsylvania woman died at York Hospital and her 11 year old daughter died at Annie Warner Hospital after a two car collision near Thurmont and Gettysburg. The Friday accident on U S 15 near Franklinville Road raised the toll to two. The crashes were attributed to driver error and involved several drivers from Frederick, Thurmont, Emmitsburg and Walkersville.

Hit-Run Death Of Woman Probed
A 20-year-old woman, Nancy Marie Roberts of Rockville, was found dead along Md. 355 south of Urbana after a 2 45 a m hit and run. State police say an autopsy will determine cause of death. Roberts had called a public booth 15 minutes before, saying she was stranded in fog. Her body was found near the highway after she and a friend went dancing Saturday night.
