The EPA will not ban daminozide also marketed as Alar citing no proof of cancer risk from current data. It imposes limited use restrictions while Uniroyal funds new tests and a market basket survey to measure residue in apples and products. Green groups threaten to sue to force a ban.

Pomona Grange Plans Meeting and Events
The Frederick County Pomona Grange will meet at 10 a.m. January 25 at the Emmitsburg Senior Citizens Center.
