Telephone Trapping Circuit Aids Tracing Threat Calls

Robert F. Pedrick an advanced development engineer has invented a telephone circuit to trap and trace nuisance calls while the recipient calls police on the same line. Patented by Stromberg-Carlson division of General Dynamics, it is in use by independent phone companies. The circuit lets a caller alert central and keeps switches from releasing until the source is located, enabling help requests on the same instrument. It could deter criminals including kidnapper threats and be standard equipment on devices prone to threats.
