Moon Eclipses Venus Delights Fredericktonians In Sky Show
Fredericktonians witnessed a rare event as Venus was eclipsed by the Moon with immersion at about 6:30 and emersion around 7:28 local time. The occultation was visible east of the Rockies, aside from parts of Maine Vermont and New Hampshire. Venus appeared as a crescent near half-moon phase, while the Moon’s crescent was low in the eastern sky. Strong winds Friday night brought minor damage and a cold day followed with a high of 44 degrees.
